Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I discussed his science homework on the periodic table and discussed the writing assignment for his English class."
"We worked on multiplication and division of decimals and went over her math homework. We did a fun quiz about subject verb agreement and continued with a lesson about helping verbs."
"The student did multiplying and dividing by negative numbers, long division, and order of operations problems, then did vocabulary problems from the review manual."
"Checked math problems the student had completed earlier in the week, nine of every ten problems were perfect. Those that were incorrect were more the result of not double checking than any conceptual difficulties. After we got to do some science stuff, learning about latitude and longitude, she seemed to have a very good handle on this material as well."
"Completed informal assessment to determine strengths/weakness. Reviewed letter sounds and isolating first sounds of words. Student was able to isolate both when given the letter. Reviewed rote counting. He was able to go to 100+. Reviewed number ID (he was asked to write a number I verbalized// and when I wrote a number he verbalized) randomly from 1-100. His 1:1 correspondence was limited, as he tended to get ahead of himself. Presented single digit addition, and he required verbal prompting and modeling to complete. Additionally we reviewed months of the year. He knew them in rote and was able to state the name when shown in random isolation."
"During this session I tried to get a better picture of how best to assist the student. He is very energetic and was interested in all of the activities. He really enjoys coloring pictures and has a great grasp of his colors."
