Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through the test bank for the first test, which covered projectile motion and Newton's Laws. It went very well. He was able to understand the setup to every question, once it was shown to him and was able to work through similar problems when they came up again in the packet. His trig needs some work, but his algebra is improving."
"Completed the student's homework on figuring out percents using ratios. She did well on this last year and made almost no errors today. Checked her homework from a different day as she noted she had errors. These were all minor errors with calculations or copying mistakes."
"The student and I started the session with more letter blends. Today we did "ee" as well as the two different sounds made by "th" (hard and soft). We will continue practicing the "th" sounds, since that was definitely more of a challenge than some of the other blends/combinations we've done. Then we worked on counting by 2s, and since she's doing so well with that, we started going over counting by 5s. She picked up on it REALLY quickly and was able to count by 5s to 100 within our session! She also picked up on counting by 10s really easily, too. She is doing great!"
"Read the five academic articles that we will be definitely using in the article. Three were background on PACE, S/HMO, and Integrated Care Models, and two were specific studies examining the efficacy of these programs using patient interviews."
"Did as much math practice as we could, and had the student take a few practice sections by himself. I also had him practice bubbling in the scantron sheet, as he has never taken a test with a scantron before. He is doing well. He has gotten the hang of bubbling, and is scoring consistently in the mid-80s. He will do well on the test tomorrow."
"We enjoyed a productive session. The student finished his homework due tomorrow focusing on infinitives in indirect statements (present, perfect, future) and the sequence of tenses for using and translating these. We reviewed the vocabulary for tomorrow's and Wednesday's quizzes, and got him started on his homework on present participles for Wednesday. He demonstrated a good recall on the vocabulary, and a good understanding both of the infinitives and the present participles."
