"The student and I worked on his homework notebook. He had to make a comic strip using 10 of his spelling words. He did a great job and was very creative. He completed his math worksheet and discussed all that he is learning in school."
"The student and I worked on his multiplication skills. He has a packet left from this summer. He was able to finish with confidence the problems that he skipped the first time through. He now has a handful of methods to solve the multiplication problems he hadn't mastered before."
"The student and I worked on how she can do estimating and expanded form using decimals. She did wonderfully with the expanded form, and did not need any assistance, though the estimating was a little confusing for her. We worked through some sample word problems, and she began to really get the hang of it and be able to do it on her own. We also worked on paragraph structure. She is doing much better with that, but I want to continue working in making her writing flow."
"The student and I worked on many concepts today. We worked for quite a bit on subtraction. She was able to move from concrete objects, to her fingers and finally to her head to solve simple subtraction problems. We did a reading comprehension sheet which required her to read the key words that rhymed with -ap (cap, map, nap) and answer questions about the story. We did some beginning consonant sounds, focusing on the letters B, C, D. We also practiced her printing, which is improving each time we meet. We also read a fiction book together and discussed it."
"The student and I worked on math word problems today. I worked with her on breaking down each part of the word problem so she would have a better understanding of what the problem is requesting. The student did good with some of the concepts but she needs to continue to practice to build her confidence. I will email you some additional practice problems this week. Overall, she worked hard today! Great job!"
"The student and I worked on money today. She made good progress but struggled at the beginning. We worked on adding and subtracting money by counting, skip counting, and using word problems. She did great!"
