Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went through her Chapter 3 Review Online Homework Problems (60 of them). She would work them out herself, but I would assist her if she made a mistake or had a question. She did a fantastic job going through the problems quickly, but she does need to review a few of the postulates and theorems. Overall, it was a great first session!"
"The student and I went through her homework, throwing in several timed exercises. She seems to be getting better at shaking off the urge to rush. She got a great head start on her assignment and looks very comfortable with her material, although she is (very) occasionally unfocused. She is doing very well in her approach to difficult problems!"
"The student and I worked ahead on her homework reviewing the work we did this summer with the angle addition postulate. We made it halfway through her homework, and we made it through the entire section so when she goes to class it will be a firm review for her. She was struggling to remember the concept in the beginning of the session because she was so tired but after her second wind, she caught on. We did examples and her homework, and she did an amazing job!! I would just make sure she does a couple of extra practice problems on the angle addition postulate using algebraic expressions, for which I will provide an extra worksheet."
"The student and I worked on getting his homework done for math and had the opportunity to look into science. He is currently working on word problems and is getting very good at getting them right. I left him with a couple of math problems that will help him get the practice for dealing with equations and fractions, this is the biggest struggle he has thus far in this class, but with time and practice we'll work to getting him comfortable with equations that incorporate fractions in them."
"The student and I worked on her homework today. She had to draw parallel and perpendicular lines, angle complements, and a few shapes using only a straightedge and compass. The directions on how to do some of the tasks weren't very clear, so we watched some YouTube videos to get more clarification and they helped a lot. She wasn't struggling with understanding the material, just with remembering all the steps, which is understandable given that she'd just learned this new topic. Even when we were having a bit of trouble on a couple of the questions, her attitude was always positive."
"The student and I worked on her unit 4 online quiz. She received a 100%. She also let me know that she received a 100% on her unit 3 test. She is doing very well so far this year. Unit 4 focuses on proofs using parallel and perpendicular lines. She is working on memorizing all of the vocabulary terms, but is doing a great job with the concepts."
