Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent the first half reviewing topics from yesterday and then focused on problems regarding constant acceleration. We also practiced drawing d vs. t, v vs. t, and a vs. t graphs."
"The student's final is on Saturday, so we will spend the next few sessions talking about the last few topics including waves and gravity, and reviewing old concepts."
"The student worked through the questions due on her physics pre-comps packet. We then worked on her algebra review."
"The student and I finished going over the practice exam. After that, we turned to his equation sheet. We talked through highlighting how to use each equation. We also added some details pertaining to breaking vectors into components. We started the process of going back over the homework questions, discussing how to solve the questions that he wanted to discuss."
"The student and I first checked over the prior homework assignment on wave optics. Then we reviewed the wave optics example problems. I had pre-selected some problems to see what her problem solving process was in regards to optics. Furthermore, I stressed drawing pictures to better visualize the problem and reading the chapters before class so as to prepare herself for the upcoming lectures. The main strategy was to familiarize herself with commonly used terms, and understand what those terms signify."
"The student and I first spent some time reviewing the conceptual foundation of center of mass in systems with multiple objects and in the human body as well as power/ output rating formulas (these were the two topics covered in today's homework questions). She then completed the homework questions, and she was able to set up and solve the problems on her own after we did a few examples together step-by-step. In our next meeting, we will focus on both the new topics presented in the next class as well as her lab assignment (for which she will receive instructions from her teacher next week)."
