Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over finding maximums, minimums, and finding inflection points using the second derivative of a function. We also went over his exam that he took the week before."
"The student has gotten up to quotient rule in class. We went over her last test and she covered some homework."
"We reviewed inverse functions and trig functions and then reviewed some of the student's homework problems."
"Today, the student and I went over the next section (chain rule) and settled on a regular schedule moving forwards (Mondays before school). I'll set up a google calendar event and copy everyone on it. I'll try posting the links to the online sessions through that as well. The student still has some catching up to do, but she's working at it and has made good progress the last couple of days!"
"We did an entire review of the topics we covered previously. The student did have some problems with the more in-depth problems, like related rates and optimization, but he seems to have a good understanding of the fundamentals of limits, derivatives and how to perform them. Tips I gave include warm up before diving into an assignment, double-check your work, and practice the steps for each category of problem. I also left him with chapters he should review and practice more (related rates and optimization)."
"We covered functions and its inverses, derivative of inverse function, local/ absolute maxima and/or minima of a function, derivatives of logarithmic and exponential functions, laws of logarithms, graphing and inequality, and solution sets of inequality using the number line."
