"We went over more practice problems for the student's final. We focused on determining the electric field from a continuous charge, a current carrying wire, which can be found from integrating the charge dE=kdq/r^2. Also, we worked on converting that integral to be taken over an angle rather than a change in charge. We focused on identifying symmetry in the problem to simplify the math and eliminate some of the choices in answers. We also went over Gauss' Law and summing forces from magnetic and electric field briefly."
"We went over more problems from the same document. We repeatedly applied conservation of energy, conservation of momentum, and Newton's second law. We used a few kinematics equations (vf^2=vi^2+2ad being the hardest to remember), and noted that when an object is leaving a surface the normal force is equal to zero. We did several problems where we had to take advantage of the integral and derivative, specifically calculating work by integrating force with respect to distance, and acceleration by deriving a velocity function with respect to time."
"We went over more questions from the chapter 8 and 9 practice test. I think the student has become more aware of expanded octets, formal charges, and using them to draw Lewis structures. I think she just needs more practice with drawing Lewis dot structures."
