Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight, the student didn't have a specific assignment to work on, so we spent the session doing some review work. She had recently taken a test on the future tense, so we briefly reviewed this concept - how to form the future, irregular future verbs, etc. She seemed to have a good understanding of this tense. Then, we reviewed a list of mostly irregular verbs that she is currently working on in class. She was able to translate these verbs, but conjugating them in the present tense was a bit more challenging. Since they are irregular, I suggested that she continue reviewing them, as memorization is key in knowing these verbs. She was focused throughout the session."
"We went over the imperfect and the passe compose, as well as the differences between how you use the two, in order to prepare for the student's next exam."
"We worked on a review of her homework today, which was writing about people's wishes and beliefs. Then we reviewed the subjunctive tense and practiced conjugating sentences in the subjunctive. Lastly, we read a little more of a novel to practice reading comprehension."
"Concepts: We revisited the previous session we had together, which was scaffolding from her previous week and concepts at school, to the homework and learning from her recent week at school; with an emphasis on Definite Articles, Indefinite Articles, Pronouns, Phonetics, and a bit of in the last 5 minutes what would you like to know about."
"He continues to work on improving his pronunciation. We reviewed the present perfect and simple past tenses. He has some anxiety issues with test taking; we discussed strategies for overcoming them; although, he did receive an A- on his last quiz! He remains a pleasure to work with."
"She and I reviewed her homework together, and then prepared for an upcoming quiz with some grammar review. We then practiced listening and conversation skills to prepare for her upcoming study abroad trip."
