We reviewed general subjects in preparation for the student's upcoming Algebra II final. She is showing consistent improvement in factoring general quadratic equations and simplifying square root radicals. She is still working to recognize the difference between square roots and higher root functions performing simplification. Testing success will be dependent on her ability to recognize how to set up equations and apply the knowledge that she has demonstrated. I will be working to prepare a general test prep worksheet to help her make her final push into her final.

We reviewed geometric series, which prove that 0.9999... equals 1, among other things, and I then went into fractals, which have dimensions in between integers. This concept was fascinating to the student, and we got into some physics musings about the nature of our universe for a while after I showed that you can tangle a one-dimensional line up so that it becomes a solid square or cube and that this relies on the uncountability of the real numbers in that line but that the existence of a true irrational number would be an infinite amount of information, which would collapse the universe. He loves that sort of heavily theoretical stuff.

We reviewed graphing by putting x coordinates and y coordinates on the correct axis. There were fewer mistakes this session with plotting the points, but there were still a few small mistakes, easily corrected and quickly recognized. We worked with a packet of problems I prepared and then several of the book chapter review questions. He showed an understanding of those problems.
