We reviewed for the student's test tomorrow. He told me his confidence level was a 7 out of 10. We worked on graphing inequalities and discussed how to answer questions from the given graph. He needs to be able to explain responses in further detail that contains the information of the problem. He needs to just relax and use the strategies we have gone over together, and he will do just fine.

We reviewed for the student's upcoming test for most of our time. We focused heavily on line types, polygons, and circles. He struggled some with identifying line types and segments. He also had some limited trouble with circle parts. Overall, his main area of concern was with vocabulary more than with the math portions. He seemed like a more confident student, especially when it came to three dimensional objects. We worked the material in reverse to help cement some of the tougher areas. I gave him vocabulary words and had him draw the pictures of the ideas. I was extremely impressed with his imagination when it came to three dimensional figures and reflections. I believe his spatial recognition is solid and I will continue to rely on that going forward to teach more complicated subject matter.

We reviewed for the student's upcoming test on irrational and imaginary numbers. We started off by going over a quiz and correcting the problems she had gotten wrong, most of which were caused by simple mistakes. Then, we worked on the tricky parts of her official test review: identities and inverses, distance on the complex plane, and multiplying by conjugates to rationalize fractions. We went through a few problems on every area of the review to make sure that she was comfortable with all of them. She has a good sense of the material and seems well prepared and confident for her test.

We reviewed for the student's upcoming test. He was in good shape on slope intercept form but didn't remember how to do point-slope. To solve this, we started using point-slope as part of solving the form he knew. He plans to spend a little energy memorizing it, and I taught him the trick of writing formulas down at the top of the test so he only has to remember them long enough to write them down. His advice to himself for the test was to read carefully and watch out for negative numbers. I hope he does well on the test!
