Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has been doing well in her Spanish class recently since getting back. She is doing well in her tests as they are directly relating to the book she is reading which she is comprehending well due to our productive sessions. Great job!"
"We covered the future tense. We learned how to use it, how to conjugate it, and discussed the irregular verbs of that tense. We translated sentences from English into Spanish using the future tense, and did a fill-in-the-blank activity which incorporated the concepts that we had just learned. The session went well. The student had little trouble with grasping the concept and said that he felt good about the material."
"This was my first session with the student. We began the session discussing his various strengths and challenges in the class, as well as his goals for moving forward. For the remainder of the session, with my guidance, he re-worked a written assignment, using the required verb tense (preterite), and improved the flow within the paragraph."
"We went over notes for direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns and how they are used together in Spanish. We went over many examples of how to use them in a sentence and how to answer a questions using them. We used an acronym to remember the order these are used in a sentence in Spanish. The student had a good attitude and was making very good progress."
"The student and I began our session by completing an online homework assignment dealing with the differences/colloquialisms of "por" and "para". We then went over some topics I had noticed him struggling with during previous sessions such as identifying nouns, verbs, and adjectives, discerning between adverbs and adjectives, and correct preposition use. We then reviewed vocabulary and grammar from the past week. He did excellent with the old grammar (formal commands). Finally, we did some additional practice with por y para."
"We had some conversations and I gave him feedback. We studied vocabulary, pronunciation and talked about his goals. He speaks Spanish very well. We were talking mostly. I had some words for him to read and explain the meaning and use the word in a phrase and he did quite well. I feel encouraged, the student is a fine person and he is eager to learn Spanish. Overall, a very good session."
