Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on test corrections over the energy and heat tests, finding the enthalpy of a reaction, spontaneity of a reaction based on enthalpy, and entropy changes, heat of a reaction, heat of vaporization and melting and Gibbs free energy."
"The student and I went over Gauss' Law today. I explained to her how this topic isn't usually covered in math classes until a vector calculus course, but there are some tricks she can memorize to get through some of the more basic volume integrals she encounters in AP Physics 2. We solved a couple of examples, and by the end of them she understood things much better."
"We finished the problem set in the electric field chapter, with a great deal of algebra. Then, after a brief lesson about electric potential, we began the conceptual questions of that unit. The student asked about reviewing for the AP exam, and I said that we could start, and that I would find some old AP problems for her to try."
"We covered stoichiometry and some organic chemistry concepts. The student initially needed help with some of the stoichiometry work in his lab, but picked it up quite easily. He was receptive to the material, and I was impressed with his resolve to understand."
"We covered rate laws and integrated rate laws with some solutions theory. The student did well with the concepts and organization. He needed a brush up on some elementary chemistry like polarity but caught up quickly. Organization was more of advice on how to prepare for test. He had all homework done. I included study skills and strategies of organizing formulas and rules."
"We went over several magnetism problems including current in magnetic fields, a floating wire with current, orbiting charged particles, cyclotron radius of different particles, earth's magnetic field, and magnetic field generated by a current. The student followed easily, asking for clarification as necessary."
