Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered differential equations and found both general and particular solutions for them. The student struggled with trig and natural log integration and differentiation, so we went over those problems more heavily. She's becoming more comfortable with separation of variables."
"We covered the limit definition of the derivative, going over it conceptually and mathematically. We did many practice problems on the topics we covered today as well as from previous weeks. The student is remembering most of what we have learned. Next time, we will do some SAT and competition math problems."
"We reviewed some concepts for the student's upcoming test (chapters 3 and 4). These included synthetic division, polynomials (finding zeros) and rational functions (asymptotes.) There were a few concepts that he didn't understand at first, but he was able to get them down fairly quick as he reviewed."
"Today, the student and I worked on some matrix algebra. She was engaged and well versed in the subject matter."
"Today, we reviewed some questions that the student had on his test from earlier today. It seemed like he understood how to do them all, but he just needed some extra encouragement on the steps on a couple of the problems. He will use the steps that were reviewed today in order to finish his test tomorrow."
"Today the student and I went over integrals and derivatives of Euler's number and natural logarithms. These topics are pretty easy, and she was able to get through the entire mastery test (perfect score) quickly! We even got to talking about the next section on areas between curves, which is going to take a bit more practice. We'll meet tomorrow and hopefully get all the way through this next section by the end of that session."
