Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I worked through a problem set covering the subject of integral evaluation via the technique of u-substitution. After the student confirmed that he solved each of them correctly, he presented to me a handful of particularly difficult integral computations to solve with him, as part of his study guide for this unit. We also briefly discussed his previous test scores, where it was not as high as he would have liked it to be due to a careless arithmetical error. The client will be in touch with me to set up the next session."
"Today, the student completed her assignment and learned about angles of depression, angles of elevation, and the three basic trigonometric functions. We also worked on converting from rectangular to polar coordinates and vice versa."
"Today, we reviewed the a fall exam, and he did some questions by himself, which was a great improvement! He still needs to do practice questions before his exam and work on deciding which equations to use, but he has definitely improved in the last week!"
"Today, we worked mainly on sequences and the Archimedean property. It is clear that she doesn't fully understand what her professor is teaching, but she is a quick learner. We did have to go over some terms such as index, induction, etc., but it went well."
"Tonight we covered algebra and differentiation tricks. The student struggled the most with algebra simplification. This is a concept we will cover more the next time we meet. As always, he had a great attitude towards the reviewed material. I included no study strategies. I did not leave him with extra practice. I have no concerns."
"Tonight we covered implicit differentiation. Since it was a new topic it was a little difficult, but by the end of the session he had the general idea of it. Mainly he was doing the calculus correctly, and then was getting messed up on the algebra portions of the question."
