Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We studied for the student's test today. I recommended he study the quizzes first, but then go over his syllabus and determine if anything else not covered on the quizzes may be on the test. We made it through the quizzes, but not the other information. He seems MUCH more confident with his work now."
"We reviewed several topics that had been covered in class over the last few weeks, including position, velocity, acceleration, the mean value theorem, and the 1st and 2nd derivative tests. She had a very strong grasp of most of the concepts, and showed a lot of success with problems involving average rate of change and mean value theorem. With a little bit of practice, she should be more than prepared for an upcoming quiz on the material."
"Revision for finals: MATH: factorizing polynomials using long division and common factors (this needs more practice). Graphing absolute values and parabolas. Reviewing concepts of functions and questions relating to use of functions. Understanding questions involving finding equations of lines etc. CHEM: Reviewed the study guide. Went over concepts involving nuclear chemistry. Overall, feeling confident of her progress."
"The student and I have done a lot of work on physics, so we worked on stats again today. Mostly we worked on conditional probability and binomial distributions. I wrote many examples, and then we did a review packet given by her professor."
"Today we focused on timed practiced problems. The student had trouble with the vocabulary, so I am going to find him a new book to study from with flash cards. He did very well on the math section."
