"The student and I worked in some critical thinking number sense problems. She had some difficulty, but after walking her through how I think about the problem she was able to do it on her own. We also reviewed some decimal concepts. In her writing, she needs to work more on making sure she is answering all parts of the prompt."
"The student and I worked more on multiplication. He is beginning to memorize his multiplication tables the way I asked him to. This is going to help him very much in future math because so many things are dependent on having those tables memorized, such as division. We worked on large addition and subtraction problems as well. I looked at some of his school math work, and they are doing ordering numbers and comparing numbers at this time. We will work on these concepts next week while continuing to work on our multiplication tables. He has his 2s, 3s, and 5s memorized, and most of his 4s. Student two and I worked on handwriting a good amount this time. We traced words, and then worked on writing inside of the lines. I had him write a short description of what he did that day. Handwriting looks better from last week. We will continue to practice. We also read for a while. We're moving on to bigger words, and he is keeping up. As his confidence increases, he will be able to enjoy reading larger books."
"The student and I worked on 2 math worksheets. One was addition and the other was test prep review. He loves math and is always eager to respond to math questions. We also worked on short /o/ sound. Reviewed 10 short /o/ sound spelling words, ox, log, dot, hot, pot, etc. He also worked on his language arts homework on nouns and wrote 4 sentences using a word bank."
"The student and I worked on a number of things. Specifically, rounding, place value, word problems, and multiplication. For the first time, he was not frustrated, and was more confident than I had ever seen before. He expressed to me that his teachers have noticed his excellence in math. I'm so proud of him!"
"The student and I worked on dimensional analysis together. I showed him an easy way to remember how to convert units from one type to another based on each problem. Afterwards, he was able to demonstrate to me that he understood how to work these types of problems. We also worked on proportions and how to tell if two units are either proportional or nonproportional. I gave him some problems to do with me, and he was able to demonstrate that he understood this topic."
"The student and I worked on fractions and base ten. There seems to be some skills that were consistent last year that have slipped away. I'm going to be working with her on waking those skills back up. We also worked on subtraction facts. She had a great attitude today and worked hard!"
