"I enticed the student with some multiplication games which she took to. She did well with the multiplication. We also went over her fractions homework. She has no problems with fractions, so it was easy for her. We also did some subtraction practice, even working backwards on some of the problems. I left her with more multiples practice."
"Today, I taught the student another method of doing multiplication. He gets it! He just needs to review the multiplication table."
"We continued to work on simplifying and expanding quadratic equations. The student is showing improving skill in the area, though he is not quite proficient yet. More practice to come."
"We worked on math: dividing basic facts and how multiples of tens change the quotient. We also worked on reading comprehension and started using summarizing techniques to improve reading comprehension of a new book about a gorilla named Ivan. We also studied for the student's spelling test."
"The student and I discussed and worked on his history lesson about Archimedes. There were also activities involved with the lesson. We reviewed his math and we worked on his reading journal for "A Horse and His Boy.""
"The student had a book report due. We went through what he had written so far, editing for grammar and thought cohesion. He was a little reluctant to take advice on edits, so I had to make sure to explain why an edit was important or would improve his paper. He was then willing to make the change."
