Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over domain and continuous functions, when functions are not continuous and using the derivative formula and rate of change formula."
"Today was my first online session with the student and it went very well. He has his first test coming up tomorrow over limits and introduction to derivatives, and he had a study guide, so we covered these topics from there. We focused mostly on the introduction to derivatives, with an emphasis on simplifying fractions. He had a good understanding of the subject, and followed examples very well. He was comfortable asking questions and taking in answers and any advice I gave him. He seemed to take very good notes, and I felt that this session was very helpful for him. He was comfortable with some of the material, but I reminded him to review everything, even the problems that we didn't get to."
"We went over some of the student's homework. The homework problems she had some difficulty with were concept oriented, and I pointed out the concepts that were being used over and over."
"The student and I are ahead in the class Calculus concepts, so we instead reviewed SAT Math. We went over some of the older concepts, such as completing the square, synthetic division, vertex form, and zeroes of a function. We also covered some basic geometry, trigonometric concepts, and statistical applications such as mean, margin of error, and the spread of data points around a line of best fit."
"The student and I practiced more substitution today, and I also introduced him to integration by parts. He said the method I used made more sense to him than the method described by his teacher in class."
"We are continuing the review session about the exponential and logarithmic functions. This session covered equations, solving quadratic types, exponential form and logarithmic form of equations. The student did a good job in the meeting."
