"Today we worked on problems involving Newton's Laws and forces. I worked a fair amount of general concepts and problem-solving strategies into our discussion of specific practice problems. While he was struggling with the basics of working with forces at the beginning of our session, I felt that by the time we concluded our lesson for today, the student was starting to grasp some of the fundamental ways we work with forces in his course. We scheduled a session for Sunday afternoon to brush up on any further questions and concerns he has before he takes his exam on Monday."
"This session the student and I delved further into circuits. We reviewed a few aspects of capacitors, and I answered some questions she had about capacitor related homework problems. We then began to discuss Kirchhoff's Laws for analyzing circuits and how to set up Kirchhoff loop law problems. We worked through a few examples, and she started to grasp the material. Next session we will review this material and start on new material covered in her class."
"We spent the session covering conceptual topics like electric field, electric force, potential energy and electric potential. We reviewed the lab that he did on static electricity. He is doing well with the concepts of induction, conduction, electric charge, conductors and insulators. He is still confused about the difference between electric force and electric field. We spent most of the session discussing the differences and going through sample calculations. I told him to look back through the packet that we reviewed today to reinforce the concepts."
