Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today Student 1 and I went over spelling, and then I timed him as he did addition problems. Student 2 and I went over telling time, and she did a really great job at telling o'clock, quarter past, half past, and quarter till. We also did some addition problems."
"The student and I picked up where we left off with decimals, and she now seems to have a good grasp of how to convert decimals from one form to another, as well as how to convert decimals to fractions and back again. However, we came across a conceptual gap when adding and subtracting fractions. We will revisit what fractions mean and how to work with them next session."
"The student and I first went over the things she missed on her recent test and quiz. I helped her think through how to do those problems correctly. I reminded her to think through what the question is asking, and to be certain she has read all parts of the question. After that, we finished her study guide for her next test. She feels pretty confident in the things she will be tested over. We will do more work with fractions when I see her next week."
"Today I met with the student and we went through more problems on her homework assignment. Specifically, we worked on problems where given a function, she had to find f(-x) as compared to -f(x)."
"We reviewed a lot of concepts. He has improved a lot and is getting better at incorporating chain, product, and quotient rule into other concepts like logarithms and exponentials. His confidence is skyrocketing with every session."
"The student with completed homework on Section 3.4 and 3.5. I went over the concepts covered in this chapter to help him consolidate information he was introduced for in the last session. In the last half hour, I previewed section 3.5 and 3.6, (Composition of Functions) to prepare him. I also notified the student to prepare for revision in the potential quiz for the upcoming sessions."
