Today we continued with ANOVA, but this time focused on repeated-measures designs. We discussed what this means conceptually, as well as longitudinal designs and their benefits and limitations. We went over how to interpret reported statistics in an example study, including how figures like graphs can misrepresent actual results. The student is doing well with the general concepts we have been covering, and is making quick progress through the course.

Today the student and I went over his homework for the next module in his class, covering mean, median, mode, as well as variance and standard deviation. Much of his confusion seemed to stem from an example that had the same value for the mean and sample size, which confused him when using it for reference. After we cleared that up and discussed the nomenclature and symbols and their meanings, he had very little trouble solving the remaining problems.
