Statistics Tutoring review by Victoria in Blaine, MN
The student and I went over probabilities and the random digit table. I think she will do well on her test if she remembers to use the general addition rule for "or" problems and uses two-way tables for the long response. I sent her an email explaining how to use the table in the context of her problems.

Statistics Tutoring review by Allison in Blaine, MN
Tonight, we took her last quiz and scored a 19/20, which brought her grade up to passing! This was the goal, so tonight was a big win. For this test, we dealt with linear regressions, correlation coefficients, and scatterplots. Next, we are going to start studying for the final and make sure she has the concepts down so that she can feel confident taking the test on her own.

Statistics Tutoring review by Richelle in Blaine, MN
The student is taking an Intro to Stats class as part of a general education requirement. He needed help understanding Linear Regression. We started working together last week with Linear Correlation. This lesson used the same data and built on the concept. We started with a brief review of Linear Correlation and a short demonstration of the theory behind regression, which is that we can use a set of paired observations (x, y) to estimate a value (y) with a reported (x). We went step by step through two examples from his textbook. Then, we discussed our findings and whether the values we calculated made sense. We reconstructed our earlier scatterplots to take a look at how our estimated value fit into our earlier observations. The student feels much more confident about this concept. Next, we will cover multiple regression and review hypothesis testing.

Statistics Tutoring review by Hailey in Blaine, MN
Last night the student worked on a homework assignment on confidence intervals. We made sure to be able to distinguish between a population, a sample, and a sampling distribution. I think all these concepts were much clearer to both students by the end of the session!

The student wanted to begin preparation for an upcoming Statistics exam. We worked through a review sheet with an emphasis on hypothesis tests using T-tables and then moved on to generating confidence intervals with T-tables. Based on our progress today, he wants to schedule a follow up session on Sunday to finalize his readiness for the exam.
