In preparation for the final review before the exam, the student asked to discuss power, beta, alpha again. We discussed the complicated relationship between them (again) and she understood them more quickly and we followed an example from her book to great success. While she has yet to fully implement the idea of power in an example, she seems better able to discuss its meaning and effects.
