Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over derivatives and properties of derivatives. We derived trigonometric functions and algebraic functions. We reviewed for her test tomorrow."
"We covered inequalities and then distance formulas and how to discover anything on the perpendicular bisect of a given line. He knows how to get to the answer, but just needs practice."
"We covered representing limits on graphs again, the definitions of continuity and discontinuity and limits to infinity and of trigonometric functions. He went through his homework and he seems to understand the material really well. We got through about half of a second assignment before our time was up and it seemed like he is really getting a grasp on what we covered. It was also nice to see his progress because what we covered on Monday was on this homework assignments that we covered. The student was initially struggling most with the definition of discontinuity, but we went through it more in depth and he understood it."
"Today, we went over surface integrals and finding the center of a solid of revolution. The student has a midterm tomorrow that he should be prepared for. He is going to practice more tonight. We also reviewed the concepts behind spontaneous reactions in chemistry. The session was split in half between chemistry and calculus."
"In this session, the student and I reviewed the integral problems he will likely encounter on his exam Monday. We went through some practice problems, which he seemed to do well with. He had a question about some integrals involving e and natural log, so we talked about them in some detail. I also identified some additional problems that he should practice in preparation for his exam. I believe that he understands the concepts for this exam fairly well, but makes some simple mistakes with his algebra, simplification or arithmetic. The additional practice I assigned him will help him hone these skills and make fewer errors."
"We covered chain rule, optimization problems, and problems involving related rates. The student comprehended the material very well, and he soon got comfortable doing them on his own. He just started this new material and will do very well if he keeps up his current pace."
