Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I reviewed the Sum of Errors, Mean Absolute Error, and Mean Squared Error. I noticed that the student has a tendency to rush when completing a problem, sometimes forgetting to distribute negative signs or copying down a term wrong. Also, the student is very good at solving mathematical operations in his head, but this creates the possibility for errors when writing down solutions. I recommended that he take his time while working through the problems, and write every step out. When he takes his time, he solves the problems correctly. Overall his attitude was positive, and after explaining to him what he needs to work on, he was very receptive. I will send some practice tests to his email that he can work on so we can review during our Saturday session."
"Went over study packet for upcoming algebra test on adding, multiply, dividing, and subtracting rational expressions. Session went well."
"The student and I went over her algebra comps review packet. We covered working with exponents and velocity vector problems. We then reviewed for her physics comps exam."
"The student and I had our last session today. We covered sections 110 and 111. This included: vertical and horizontal shifts, reflections, and advanced trinomial factoring. She did very well during this session and we worked through all of her problems sets so that she wouldn't have any homework at the end."
"The student and I continued reviewing for her final exam. We covered mean, median, mode, as well as histograms, stem and leaf plots, and box and whisker plots. We also started looking over the section on polynomials. Since she's used so much of that section in more recent work, I've asked her to review it as much as she can on her own. She also needs to correct a couple older assignments."
"The student practiced algebra problems from sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3 and I have explained the one's that she had trouble with. I then taught her how to divide polynomials and then did a lot of practice on these problems."
