Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through several problems today covering light waves and properties of light including polarization, the speed of light, color, illumination and luminescence. The student was able to use the speed of light to determine distances given a time interval, calculate the relative illumination of two objects at different distances from a single source, and the luminescence of a source at a given distance from an object being illuminated. The student is doing very well with understanding the physical concepts of light and is doing much better at working through the math to find specific answers."
"Worked with the student on homework problems involving conservation of energy and momentum, as well as simple harmonic motion involving a block and spring on a horizontal surface. We also completed several projectile motion problems."
"The student and I began our session with a discussion of her comfort level and general history with math and physics. We discussed general misconceptions in physics, in an effort to gauge exactly where her understanding of physics is. She is an excellent student who has a very solid conceptual understanding of even the most difficult concepts. We spent the rest of our session going over her notes on torque, static equilibrium and moments of force. She had 2 homework problems, both of which she was able to successfully solve with only minimal support from me."
