Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over amino acid structures under a certain pH solution and titration curves. I explained to her the importance of chemistry in everyday use, so she had more of an understanding of it."
"We continued to work on vector addition today. By now, the student began to understand the concepts of vectors. It was just a matter of doing practice problems. We went through the problems one step at a time."
"We went over the student's Chem 6B unit cell, heat, and ideal gas law material. He wanted clarification mainly with the heat conversion as well as making sure the right units were used for each variable. The value and necessity is to always write out the units for each variable."
"We covered G-protein coupled receptors, G-proteins, cAMP pathway, and the PIP2 pathway. The student wanted to understand the pathways of each during our session. Her attitude was great during our session. She is very intelligent and grasped the concepts easily. She was also very informative in how I can assist her. Some of the study strategies I included in the session were to draw out the pathways on her own to make sure she understands all the components involved. I also suggested she continue to read through her book and take her own notes on the material."
"We covered genetics, specifically gene crossing and pedigrees. We also began discussing evolutionary topics. The student did excellent in grasping our concepts and applying them to the problems I gave her."
"We covered Gibbs energy and reviewed for the final. Making the connection between theory and application through graphs was a little difficult, so we went over that in detail. The student had a positive attitude as always, and we're practicing tests to help with test anxiety."
