On our last session together, the student and I went over a number of math concepts, she had either not yet encountered in school, or not yet synthesized into a cohesive and integrated corpus. Among them were the ever-dreaded fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios. She has not had experience multiplying or dividing fractions. Although she picked up the interchangeability of the terms quickly, she needs more practice to be truly comfortable shifting between terms. Lastly, we went over some algebra concepts; notably distribution of terms, a concept to which she had no exposure to previously. She worked well and kept up her attention for the duration of the lesson.

I've moved the student onto harder materials as she was getting very proficient at the easier to medium level materials. As expected, she did not do as well, so we spent much of the session going over what I had given her for homework. Vocabulary, especially, has gotten more difficult, so she did not get as many of the analogies, as she did not know nuances of some words even though she knew the general meeting. We went over all the words and made sure she understood them. Her summaries of articles have become especially precise and accurate, while staying short.
