Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered example questions for chapters 9 and 10. The student was able to correctly apply formulae and plug the appropriate values into them. She was able to recognize calculation errors and sources of errors in general. Her metacognition overall improved! She reported a high level of confidence at yesterday's study session with the preceptors. She will be contacting me later with any review questions leading up to tomorrow morning's test."
"We covered probability distributions (mean, standard deviation, variance), binomial distributions, and normal distributions."
"Today, the student and I worked on how to answer difficult questions, ones that are multi-part and widely interpreted. He said that he's been having some trouble understanding what the questions on his test are asking him. He is sending me copies of his tests so that I can read them over and emulate sample questions for us to work on."
"The student and I went through t-testing and confidence intervals. He already had experience with the confidence intervals. I used the t-test formula to show him how solving for a particular variable does either the test or the confidence interval. We looked over some basic examples and went over how to perform said calculations by hand. We ended the session going over how to do the same calculations on the calculator."
"Today, we covered working with sample tests when given different parameters. We set our next appointment for Friday at 9:30. We're laying the foundation for a smooth path to an A during a retake."
"The client is taking an introductory research methods class and wanted feedback on his latest assignment. They are using Excel for data analysis and so we went over strategies for using this software program as well."
