Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on limits and derivatives and the student's final Pre-Calc review packet. She was having a little trouble with the derivative formula but started to get the hang of it once I showed her how to do a few."
"The student and I worked on a cumulative review he provided for the session. We covered topics such as simplifying and expanding logarithms, evaluating logarithmic expressions, and rationalizing fractions. Additionally, we spent some time reviewing the unit circle and went over a helpful way for him to further understand the details within it. He really seems to be grasping the concept of evaluating trigonometric expressions, their inverses, and "nested" problems. We continued to work on finding the domain of a function and I have seen great improvement from him in this area and many others."
"We completed practice problems in preparation for the final exam. We focused on simplifying and evaluating imaginary numbers, multiplying by the conjugate and devising the simplest form of the solution. We also conducted practice with evaluating vectors by solving for magnitude and direction."
"We went over a worksheet the student received in class on sequences and series. He came into the session needing some help with how to write explicit equations to represent sequences, but left with great confidence!"
"I worked with the student on a final exam review sheet. There were a variety of problems involving basic trig relationships, law of sines, unit cancellation problems converting mph to RPM of vehicle wheels with known dimensions, and arc lengths."
