Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The concepts we covered today included transformations, tessellations, and circle properties. The student was receptive of the information, and worked hard to understand everything. Our next session will determine what she retained."
"The session began with a warm up in mixed integer problems. The student had to complete 30 problems without being timed. I reminded him to be careful with problems with double negatives. He scored 100%! Next, we moved on to Pythagorean Theorem problems, since that will be on his midterm exam. He did well on these problems. The triangle proofs were the hardest problems. He needed reminders and I will be emailing him a study sheet. The last topic covered was corresponding angles, which he got all correct."
"The student has a unit exam coming up, so we went over a question set given by her teacher. It was mostly on different types of angles. She had a quiz after our first session, and got a 100 on it. She has been improving. She knows what to do."
"The student and I are now on the review for his end of year material. The material links the individual segments into a larger problem. We were able to work on laying out the problems in a flowchart, so he can solve the problems in individual steps."
"The student and I began preparing for his Statistics final tonight. We went over about half of the material from this semester, working through the first five pages of a nine-page study guide. We will finish next week."
"The student and I began reviewing for her semester exam by looking over the material from her most recent test. This included knowing the difference between and understanding the four types of concurrency in triangles: in centers, centroids, circumcenters, and orthocenters. We also reviewed how to solve for a triangle side length or angle using given lengths and angles. The student struggled a little with recognizing the difference between the four types of concurrency. With some more practice, she should be fine for her final."
