Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We knocked out all of Chapter 7's homework and started in on Chapter 8. We did enough to get ahead. We will continue on Monday. She has 3 papers to work on between from now until then."
"We worked on the student's practice problems from school for her final exam. She is doing well. We will continue in the next session before her exam."
"We covered deferred tax assets and deferred tax liabilities. The student then completed her homework on the subject. We will have a session tomorrow to prepare for her exam on Wednesday. I think she is understanding the material we cover and improving in the class."
"In our first session today, the student and I did a basic overview of some areas of the math section that she says she feels more hesitant about. We focused on problems involving polynomials and problems involving trigonometry, particularly radians and the unit circle. She seems to really know what she's doing--she solved all the problems we did very quickly and barely struggled. I'm confident that with a bit more review, she'll get a fantastic score. I advised that she buy a test prep book that goes over specific concepts for each section of the test, just to make sure that she understands everything fully."
"Today, we moved on from the Quantitative section to the Verbal section. We covered Chapter 3 on the Geography of the Verbal Section and most of Chapter 4 on Text Completions. For our next and last session, the student will complete the reading of Chapters 4 and 5, and we will conclude the Verbal section during our last session on Tuesday."
"We covered some math concepts, including squares, cubes, and square roots, and worked some practice problems using a calculator. We also practiced converting fractions, decimals, and percents. Next, we did a practice essay. She used her laptop to compose a response to a narrative prompt. Her writing was on topic, had a beginning, middle and end, and had a strong voice--I was very impressed. We looked over the writing and I showed her some corrections that needed to be made to punctuation and the spelling of a few words. Last, we worked through two reading passages and answered multiple-choice questions. She is a great student and a pleasure to work with!"
