Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met again to continue preparing for his test next week. We continued our review with some thermochemistry problems as well as revisiting some of the kinematics problems from earlier. Next time we meet, we will address some fluids work that he missed from class in order to prepare for different types of problems that he might be tested on. The student definitely has a much better understanding of the concepts from his physics course."
"The student and I covered the chapter on viruses. We reviewed structure and function. We discussed the 6 kinds of genetic material and unusual molecules/enzymes found in viruses. Lastly, we covered viroids and prions, and completed 8 multiple choice questions."
"Today the student worked on her Science project. We spent the first hour organizing her written report portion. I taught her certain formatting techniques on Microsoft Word. The second hour was spent designing the board, cutting and pasting."
"The student and I went over the study guide from his final exam. He seems to be very knowledgeable of his calculations. He needs some brush up on conceptual material, and I think he should be good to go. We are meeting on Sunday because he has a test on Monday, covering solution Chemistry."
"We went through her exam review. It was about the nervous system and the endocrine system. I explained all the parts of them to her and asked her questions to make sure she understood them. We talked about different parts of them and their characteristics."
"Today the student and I covered practice exam 1, carboxylic acid derivatives, acyl chlorides, esters, anhydrides, reduction of esters and carboxylic acids, DIBAL-h, synthesis of amides, saponification, acids hydrolysis of esters, transesterification, base and acid catalyzed hydrolysis of amides, synthesis of amides, enolate and enolate formation, acids and base catalyzed addition of X2 to the alpha carbon, and LDA."
