How can a Spokane Spanish tutor near me help me increase my fluency?

The Spanish language is considered one of the easiest languages for a native English speaker to learn. However, it can still present some of the most common challenges of learning a new language. Perhaps you are the parent of a student who is taking their first Spanish course. Maybe you are interested in studying the language to be able to communicate with people during an upcoming trip. Whatever reasons you or your student have for learning the language, a Spokane Spanish tutor can be there to lend support.

Spokane Spanish tutors can benefit your or your student's language studies in many different ways. Tutoring is done in a one-on-one setting. Learning in a private setting allows your needs to be met because you will be your instructor's top priority throughout your sessions. Your mentor can create customized lesson plans that target your areas in need of improvement and incorporate your strengths. Your educator can lead you through each lesson plan at a pace that works for you, and you can ask questions whenever you need to.

Spokane Spanish tutors can use their knowledge and expertise to help you learn important aspects of the Spanish language in great detail. They can also help you understand important Spanish grammar concepts and expand your vocabulary. From spelling and pronunciation to noun-adjective pairing, your specific needs are the top priority when you sign up for Spokane Spanish tutoring. You can become more proficient and effective in the language because of the level of personalization that a private language instructor can give you.

Your educator can use numerous teaching methods to help you learn Spanish, and they can find the method that works the best for you based on your specific learning tendencies. For instance, if you are a visual learner, your instructor may create flashcards to help you memorize key Spanish vocabulary words. Your language mentor can create written exercises or projects to complete which can help you better understand the concepts that you may be struggling with, such as using gendered nouns and noun-adjective pairing. Working through practice problems and creating projects gives you the chance to correct your mistakes quickly, ensuring that you are using Spanish properly.

When you are learning a new language, it is important to spend an ample amount of time practicing it. This is another area in which your instructor can help you excel. By using simulated immersion, your instructor can help you make progress quickly. You can improve your pronunciation and make the Spanish language more natural for you while also picking up on the various nuances of Spanish grammar. Thanks to simulated immersion, you could become more confident in your communication abilities when it comes to speaking with other Spanish-speaking people.

Spanish Tutoring review by Katherine in Spokane, WA
In this session, I reviewed a few chapters of a story the student is reading for class. We clarified questions her teacher asked in class. I helped her organize the different characters in the story and their relation to one another. I pointed out key details about the setting of the story and implied circumstances. We also identified foreshadowing implied throughout the story. She is very attentive and prepared for each session! I greatly appreciate her organization and communication before each session, allowing us to have productive meetings.

Spanish Tutoring review by Lucianna in Spokane, WA
The student and I began the lesson with a little conversation about how he was and how the weather was. We completed some exercises reviewing colors and adjectives. He has a good memory for vocabulary. I spent the rest of the lesson working with him on the verb to be (estar); its conjugations in the present tense and forming sentences with this verb and adjectives. I wrote sentences with the verb missing and he had to give me the correct conjugation based on the pronoun and adjective that I wrote. He also completed an exercise where I asked him to make his own sentences for me. This is important because I wanted him to fully understand how the adjective needs to correspond with the sentence based on the subject; whether it's feminine or masculine and singular or plural. I will continue to challenge the student by working with this verb until he feels confident making sentences on his own. The lessons will be able to be more fun as he improves his vocabulary and his confidence in the language.

Today we were doing exercises with the use of the word "se" because the student saw an ad and had questions about it. Then I explained him a new tense that is called "copreterito" and we were doing oral exercises, the first ones where about personal experiences and in the last ten minutes of the lesson were about his company. He was intrigued with the use of "se" because it has so many uses that is really complex and he is discovering new forms of the use by his own.

Spanish Tutoring review by Dylan in Spokane, WA
Today the student and I reviewed the conditional and futuro tenses. We reviewed and drilled the irregular radicals of verbs in those tenses. He and I then translated sentences from English into Spanish, focusing on using those tenses and direct and indirect object pronouns. I left sentences to be translated which employ mandatos, el pluscuamperfecto, el presente perfecto, el condicional y el futuro, and pronouns, as per the student's request. This should be challenging, holistic review work.

Spanish Tutoring review by Cynthia in Spokane, WA
First we worked on a story from the same website with Spanish short stories that we've been reading. We read "Los compadres brujos." Then, we did the first third of the second chapter in our workbook which now addresses the verbs "ser" and "estar" in the preterite and imperfect tenses. The student did very well with the worksheets which build on each other. We are saying the sentences out loud in the original Spanish, as if we were actually speaking them, as a route to pick out the correct forms.

Spanish Tutoring review by Michael in Spokane, WA
The first thing we did was a grade check. He has B's and A's in all classes, except language arts, which will go up after the teacher puts in a project he just finished and did well in. He has a 90 in Spanish after getting a 90 on the last quiz. He has another Spanish quiz on Friday, so we worked on his worksheet that went over the topics that will be covered: telling time (going from numbers to words), telling someone's age by using the verb tener, and describing someone using the correct form of the adjective and the verb ser. I gave him a study guide on how to correctly conjugate the verbs ser and tener, and we talked about the fact that adjectives must agree with the noun in both number and gender. We then worked on common expressions and sayings when greeting someone, telling the days of the week, weather, and other common sayings. We also went over the sounds and examples of each letter of the Spanish alphabet, and talked about the 1-1 sound letter correspondence in Spanish. He knows the sounds of the alphabet very well, and his pronunciation is very good. Lastly, we went over a map that he has a quiz on in geography over major mountain ranges. There was a blank map online provided by his teacher as well as a map with the mountain ranges labeled. We went back and forth between the maps to study. He works very well and does all tasks asked of him.
