Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student one: Finished math homework together with problems involving angles of a triangle. Student two: Corrected homework involving congruent angles and parallel lines. Understands concepts well for this section, but many small mistakes were made on the homework which ultimately costed him the right answer. "
"The concepts covered include complementary and supplementary angles, probability, and congruence. The student was able to effectively answer all her questions by relating her notes to her assignment. Great Job."
"The concepts covered included points, lines, rays, line segments, and planes. At first, the student was struggling most with the definitions of the objects. He had an overall idea about the objects mentioned, but was not completely sure when it came to identifying the objects in a diagram in the beginning. I suggested doing more practice at home from an online resource that the teacher has provided, especially since he is not assigned homework which would help him hone his skills. I also suggested asking his teacher if there is a reference he can use for the definitions and concepts learned in class."
"The first session covered all of the geometric relationships. The student was having trouble learning all the equations at first, but steady progress could be seen once she had completed plenty of example problems. She is interested in the subject once you relate it to interesting examples in real life. I left her with homework to go over the equations and theorems."
"The first session with the student went extremely well. I am excited to get to know him better and teach him geometry in a way that best fits his learning style. "
"The focus of this session was to cover topics in geometry to prepare the student for the EOC test. We focused on: triangles including the triangle inequality theorem, types of triangles, interior angles, exterior angles, Pythagorean Theorem, area and perimeter, polygons including area and perimeter of both irregular and regular polygons, interior and exterior angles, and naming polygons. We also covered circles including circumference and area, radius and diameter, parts of a circle, and equations for circles. I left her with extra practice for each of the topics that incorporated harder algebraic expressions to solve each."
