Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over exponents and interest problems. For the most part, the student just had small questions on certain problems, but overall, she already understood the concepts. We did some practice problems together to make sure she understood how to do the different types of problems that will be on her test. Extra practice is reviewing on her own and practicing before the test to make sure she has the concepts completely memorized."
"We went over factoring polynomial equations and proofs. We went over some practice problems, and her confidence has increased. She still makes small rushed mistakes. I am teaching her strategies to quickly identify these."
"We went over finding the distance between a line and a point. Also, we covered the method to find the distance between two parallel lines. The student did well conceptually. She could use practice on the subject matter, as well as multiplying and dividing fractions. I left the student with one additional practice problem. The method to find the distance between two parallel lines has 6 steps, so it requires some practice in order to feel comfortable with the method."
"We went over how to find lengths and sides of right triangles using the Pythagorean theorem and the trigonometric functions. The student seemed to grasp the concepts loosely and really just needs practice to solidify the concepts."
"We went over one of the student's homework assignments that she was assigned for her geometry class and another that was assigned for her trigonometry class. She didn't seem to have a hard time doing any of the problems; there were certain problems that she needed some help with, but after I explained how to do the problems, she picked up on them very quickly. As of right now, there doesn't appear to be any reason to be worried that she won't do well in her class."
"We went over parallel lines, triangle, and angle properties. The student had a great learning attitude and was quite fast at finishing the problem in his head. I let him try to solve a few problems and repeat to me concepts that I showed him so that he would be able to reproduce them for his quiz tomorrow. I feel very comfortable with his progress. He seemed to have grasped the concepts. He seemed satisfied about his progress of being able to solve the problems on his own. I feel he understood the material well."
