Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked today on coming up with a rubric for her to use for her weekly problem-solving writing. Her teacher commented on her last one that she needed to add more detail, so we worked together to make a structure that she can follow, so she makes sure she adds enough detail."
"The student and I worked together on addition and money today. She still struggles with adding coins and got progressively better as our session went on. She was unable to identify coins with consistency at the beginning of the lesson but was able to at the end of our session."
"The student began school and is really enjoying second grade so far. Today, we practiced various strategies for increasing proficiency with adding into the teens. He was a little tough to get to focus, but overall, did well and retained most of the information taught."
"The student began to review in preparation of her upcoming exam. She completed her portfolio assignment over volume using cubic measures. We also completed her math assignment in her one of her workbooks that practiced various topics that she has already been presented in the class. She is most unfamiliar with measurement conversions, but it did not state that it is one of the test topics. Lastly, we practiced finding area of rectangles that involved fractional measurements."
"The student brought back a math addition paper, and he had no problem correcting it. We are working mostly on math. I bought him new flash cards that are more difficult than what he has, and we drilled the 13 family until he knew it well."
"The student brought home his Pre-Algebra book like I asked. The first chapter is over classifying numbers. So far he has been able to finish his assignments at school, but he has been told that the class will move fast. I asked him to bring home the finished work and that we will do additional practice to keep up and excel at this class. His math class meets every other day."
