Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over her next homework assignment on scatter plots and line of best fit. We had to use the knowledge from the last chapter to do some of the work today, and she did a wonderful job calculating on her own. I'm happy to see her remembering how to do the work and get the right answer, even when we are working on something else. She is a smart young lady who is doing well in math! We are planning to meet again on Monday."
"The student and I went over inequalities and word problems (inequalities, mixtures, and rates). He was struggling the most with the inequality word problems, but he quickly picked up the concepts and was able to solve the problems on his own. He had a good attitude throughout our session and wasn't afraid to ask questions. I included some strategies as we worked the problems. He did a good job solving the mixture and rates problems."
"The student and I went over inequalities, equations, substitution, and a little bit of graphing. We did a few other random problems. For homework, she will do extra practice in the book and check her answers."
"The student and I went over questions that included some new concepts, including systems of inequalities and simultaneous solutions to systems of equations. We also reviewed finding the least common multiple and greatest common factor, and the relation of those two concepts. We went through several examples to figure out the rule. She did very well. She initially had trouble with the wording of some of the questions because they were introducing new terms, but once they were rephrased, she was able to solve them without much trouble."
"The student and I went over slope intercept form, point slope form, and standard form of linear equations. She seems to have really improved with the algebra involved in writing linear equations. She has a quiz on Friday on these types of problems, so we were sure to do many examples of each."
"The student and I went over systems of equations. She needed help to catch on, and needed guidance for more basic math concepts like multiplying and dividing negative numbers. She wants to understand the material, so that's good. She is showing improvement."
