Today I continued to help the student prepare for her Spanish final. I created a review quiz for her using the study guide and questions that I pulled from her textbook. She answered most of the answers correctly, but there are still a few areas that we need to focus on. She needs more practice with affirmative and negative words, direct object pronouns, and knowing when to use saber vs. conocer. We'll work on these in our next session. We used the last part of the tutoring session to prepare for her oral presentation. I asked her many questions using the vocabulary from the study guide and reflexive verbs and irregular verbs in the yo form (salir, venir, decir). She did very well during our conversation today; she answered confidently with minimal mistakes. Overall, her communication skills have greatly improved, and in our future sessions we will continue to go over grammar and verbs.

As a review, I asked him to draw his family tree and describe the people in it and their relationships. He did a very good job!

The student and I reviewed some vocabulary and focused on the present, preterite, and imperfect verb tenses of Ser, Estar, Hablar, and Ir. This was the first time the student and I reviewed the past tense in Spanish. I recommended she continue practicing her verb conjugation and to listen to Spanish podcasts as well. We will continue verb conjugations on the next tutoring session.
