We covered the Buckingham Pi Theorem and rules of similarity for fluid dynamics problems. The student uploaded his work for homework 7 and we discussed solution methods and an alternative, more intuitive, approach to finding dimensionless variables for the BPT. We also worked through finding appropriate dimensionless variables so that BPT would produce useful dimensionless variables that assist with solving problems. For the next session, he will have his graded exam 2 to review as well as his work thus far for homework 8.

The student and I did a review of the new material she is covering in class: waves in strings and open and closed pipes. The problems had very specific situations and formulas to use, so we went over how to identify each of them and explain why and how to use them. The more problems we did, the more comfortable she felt working through the problems by herself.

We covered all of the first unit and parts of the second unit of the student's chemistry class. She is essentially trying to do an entire class in a weekend. The second unit actually got into some basic chemical principles. We covered the basics of stoichiometry and did a couple problems using algebra. We also did a couple laboratory simulations.
