Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student very clearly studied over her vacation last week and it shows! She is doing so much better in math, and I'm so glad. She also seems to be more comfortable asking me questions. That's exactly what I'm here for- help! I'm also so glad to hear that she received an A on her science test. It seems flashcards are working for her, and that is something we will stick to for the rest of the school year. She's doing so well, and I'm so happy to see how much she has grown!"
"The student wanted help with extensive homework on ANOVA, including various designs - one-way, factorial, and MANOVA- and post hoc tests and conceptual problems. She also needed to write a paper on a proposed topic with all details such as variables, sampling, and data analysis in APA format with peer-reviewed sources. All of this is new to her so we had a lot to cover!"
"The student wanted more help with her homework, so we had two sessions this week. Today we worked on dividing fractions with mixed numbers. She knows the steps but she needs positive reinforcement. Sometimes she forgets to FLIP the second fraction after she converts it into an improper fraction. She also had work with determining proportions and creating a table, and then turning the numbers into ordered pairs and graphing on a coordinate plane. Next week we both are on fall break."
"The student wanted to review Calc II to prepare for his upcoming Calc III course. We went through exercises on related topics to evaluate what he needed more practice with. He displayed comfort with everything thanks to his HL Math class."
"The student wanted to study for the quiz she has coming up. The topics we covered today are adding subtracting integers/decimals with and without number line, adding and subtracting fractions, and identifying terminating and non terminating or repeated decimals."
"The student wanted to work on quadratics during our tutoring session, and she had a study guide to work from. We covered just about everything related to quadratics on that study guide! Isa had finished a lot of the guide already, so we were just working on the problems she struggled with. As always, the student catches on really quickly, and showed better understanding right away. She had the most difficulty with the application problems, so we discussed little things she can do to help her set up the problem correctly. Our next tutoring session is scheduled for our usual day and time."
