Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had a pre-calculus review session today instead of ACT practice to prepare her for her final tomorrow. Next week, we will begin meeting for ACT again."
"We continued to prepare for the student's final that is tomorrow. We have one more session planned for today. We went through tests and focused on vector material. An A or B is possible, which is the stated goal."
"Today we had our final session preparing the student for her pre-calc final. We went over a free response question from her practice final. Then we went through a series of questions that she had rewritten out from previous tests. These were questions she had gotten wrong on the tests, and she wanted to make sure she knew how to do the problems. Almost all of the problems were regarding trig with several being how to determine the equation given a graph and then use the equation to answer various questions. She did well identifying whether the graph was sine or cosine. After we talked through a generic formula (y=k + Af[B(x-h)]), she was able to more clearly identify the parameters and determine a correct equation for the given graph. Once she had the equation she was able to efficiently work through the remainder of the problem. By the end, she was much more comfortable with this. She did well on the general and analytic trig questions. Overall, she seemed well prepared for her final. She was going to do some more practice questions just to ensure she felt comfortable with all of the material."
"We reviewed for the student's upcoming quiz/midterm on: (1) vectors, (2) parametric equations, (3) projectile motion, and (4) polar coordinates/equations and their graphs."
"We reviewed the student's review sheet once more. I told him to go over it again to prepare for his test tomorrow."
"Reviewed trigonometry concepts, basic values of angles, and how to determine the value of the six functions. Worked on graphing various functions."
