"The student and I covered inverse functions using the calculus formula version of inverses. We also reviewed using the reference triangle to find inverse trig functions. We solved one problem involving exponential growth and decay. It was derived to help solve for the constant k, and finding the final temperature."
"We continued to work on phonetics, focusing on the main sounds of the alphabet and listing words that began with each letter sound. We worked on the student's fine motor skills by coloring and cutting different shapes. We did sight words, too. I introduced an app that would aid our work with writing and shaping letters. During this exercise, I discovered that the student struggles with the mechanics of forming letters. I will begin to add this to our sessions together. The student should continue to practice sight words, more cutting and coloring, and do a word search."
"She and I went over grammar. Specifically, we looked at the usage of the simple present and the present progressive. We also looked at the use of always with the present progressive tense to express annoyance. Further, we learned about independent clauses and the use of coordinating conjunctions and the use of commas when the dependent clause is placed first in a sentence. Finally, we completed some reading questions. She is doing extremely well."
"Tonight was my last session with the student, so we devoted it almost exclusively to review. We began by finishing out the content that's necessary for him to know for the English section, going over the essentials of editing in context questions. After that, we went over several math concepts, including basic trigonometry and questions having to do with circles. The rest of the session was spent going over other concepts that he wanted to review - including the rules governing semicolons and colons and two practice science passages - and reviewing tips for studying tomorrow and preparing for the test on Saturday. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I have confidence that he'll do well on the test."
"We are about 60-70 % through the material for the exam on Monday. We will get through all of the rest tomorrow. I have supplied practice exams as the best way to finish preparing for the exam, and will be available to review any questions from those over the weekend."
"We covered transformations in algebra. Went over basic horizontal and vertical transformations. Then we covered transformations across the x-axis and y-axis. We also covered horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks. The student seemed confident towards the material after doing a few practice problems. I assigned homework to check that he understands it and will go over it next time."
