Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy. The student did not really know how to solve the problems at first. However, after I showed her an example, she was able to do the rest of the problems pretty well on her own. I emphasized the theory behind the concepts for her to really grasp the information. She has her own practice problems for homework. Great session."
"We continue to balance his online semester with the new semester of chemistry that has started at school. His goal is to take the final online exam sometime this weekend. I believe he can do this if he is able to review all the unit exams/quizzes from earlier sections of the curriculum. Our priority area for this session was ensuring his school homework was complete and that he understood the concepts. After that was complete, he needed to complete one online assignment before we pulled up the study guide I made for his online unit exam on elements forming compounds. He took the unit exam (40 questions) and received an 87% on it. This was not concerning, since school will be covering the same material in an upcoming unit. In order for him to take the final exam, he will need to have all assignments turned in and have his online work completely graded. When I left him, he was going to finish working on an outstanding writing assignment on ionic compounds. He will be working with me later this week as we try and review for his final exam."
"We covered basic genetics concepts such as inheritance, recurrence risks, and family pedigrees. The student had a quiz on Thursday and seemed very confident. We agreed to cover Biology and Chemistry next week."
