"The student and I began the process of Analyzing the essays. We discussed brainstorming, introduction, supporting paragraphs and conclusions. We also discussed completing the vocabulary portion. For our next meeting, he is to complete the vocabulary words till E, pages 53 - 74 and an essay which I will send to him."
"The student and I spent our time finishing discussion of the argument essay we started the previous session. This involved writing a sample third body paragraph and a conclusion. Additionally, we discussed different ways to style topic sentences and the qualities that make a strong concluding paragraph. We proceeded to discuss the issue essay. We conversed about one of the issue topics before writing a rough outline of how the essay might look. Finally, we spoke about prospects with respect to graduate school, and the possibility of reapplying for spring admission."
"During our second session together, the student and I recapped last week's work on the Analytical Writing Issue Task, before moving on to explore tactics for the Argument Task. While she was not entirely satisfied with her Literature category work, the student's "Example List" assignment from last week included several viable options for use in later essays. Additionally, her timed essay assignment showed a firm command of structure, and a skilled hand when crafting topic sentences. Moving forward, we will monitor her writing for run-on sentences and ambiguous/informal pronouns."
"The student and I worked on a Problem Set, and after going over it, we then focused our efforts on learning and mastering the basics of Probability. This has been an area of weakness for her and after many practice problems, she has a much better understanding of probability and has more confidence in answering these types of questions. We then did a few exercises on converting "English to algebra" and she will complete the rest of the exercises before we meet next time. We will continue splitting our time between mastering the basics and working on practice sets."
"The student and I went through another practice test. She has improved a great deal and is much more confident. We discussed a strategy to use for the last few weeks of studying."
