Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has her final tomorrow and had a cumulative review assignment. I advised her through tougher problems, but made sure she fully understood with a few practice problems."
"We finished chapter 8 by covering cubics. We then moved forward into chapter 9, jumping straight into problems of percent composition, empirical, and molecular formulas. Moving through the end of chapter 8 progressed slowly, but he was able to get the material. He did very well on chapter 9's material."
"The student and I talked for the first twenty minutes about school relationships and interactions. Next, I guided her as she studied for her Spanish quiz on verbs. Since her Spanish has room for improvement, I'm going to encourage more intense study of her Spanish assignments. We finished the session with Physics notes from Ch 22. The student has done well this semester keeping up with her Physics notes. Her diligence is paying off!"
"We worked on the student's college application essay. We brainstormed ideas and then devised the general structure. We reached halfway completion of the essay, which needs to be between 500-1000 words. We will continue the essay during our next session."
"We looked over her SAT scores and we will focus on geometry, passage-based reading, and improving sentences."
"This session the student and I picked up working on the section focusing on pattern folding. Pattern folding can be really tricky, and it's one of those sections that has a very rough learning curve! We focused on difficult questions for almost the entire session. By the end, the student had a really great handle on pattern folding. I think that the student is starting to enjoy these difficult questions, and finding the fun in questions is a key in productive studying."
