Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session, we reviewed the present subjunctive mood in the active and passive voice. We practiced forming the subjunctive in both the active and passive in each conjugation, discussed the four ways to translate the independent subjunctive, and then translated practiced sentences containing subjunctive verbs."
"This week we reviewed for his midterm exam, covering the grammatical material that could show up on the test, one concept at a time. We used the exercises in the textbook to review many of these concepts, in addition to my making sure he understood them conceptually."
"The student and I continued reading the Aeneid. He did fine today with translation; he just needs to brush up on grammar. We will work on this next time. As always, we are reading ahead of his class."
"The student and I went over translations from his last quiz today, and he seemed to understand them and translate them very fluidly. We worked on the formation of comparative and superlative adverbs, and the perfect passive participle of dependent verbs in preparation for his upcoming coursework. We also went over the imperfect subjunctive, which he was able to understand and put into action within a few minutes of learning. "
"The student has a strong foundation in Latin, and is clearly very bright. We spent the session reviewing Indirect Commands, and working on his homework assignment for the weekend. His focus was excellent, and we were very productive."
"The student did very well today. We started the explanation/exercise set on the third-declension adjectives and got pretty far along in it."
