How can a tutor help you with summer tutoring?

For most students, the summer months are a time to rest and take a break from school. Unfortunately, these months away from the classroom may also result in many pupils forgetting a large amount of material they have learned throughout the year. It is especially important to prevent this from happening with students who struggled more than usual to keep up with the pace of classroom lessons. In order to ensure that a child doesn't forget major components of their education, they are recommended to study two to three hours a week to stay sharp. If you are the parent of a student in grade school who could use a booster course during the summer, one-on-one tutoring may be the best option. Varsity Tutors may hand-pick a summer tutor in Seattle, WA, who may work with your child's individual learning style, abilities, and personality.

Contact us today to try to help your child work to stays ahead of the learning curve. Varsity Tutors is happy to try to help you find an independent summer tutor in Seattle who may give your student the hands-on assistance they need to retain what they have studied, as well as learn new concepts along the way. Their tutor may work with them to practice math, reading, and various other subjects. Since all lessons are student-centered, your child may be able to benefit from meaningful discussions, valuable feedback, and detailed explanations. Furthermore, every lesson is centered on your student's specific needs, so they may study in a way that focuses on problematic areas in particular, or teaches a variety of subjects.

We spent the time today going through the rest of the key terms that the student needed to study for the test and then went through his flash cards and through the study guide again to study the key terms further. I went through and made questions based on the information and the questions on the study guide so he could learn to analyze the information in a different format, and he seemed like he was really connecting all the dots with the information. He has his test today and we'll be meeting again tomorrow to go over his essay assignment. He also informed me that his final is next Wednesday, so we'll be working on filling out the study guide from his other past tests so he's prepared for the final.

The student did VERY well on her math test this week, but only got a 77 on her history test. I looked at her review/study sheets and we discussed that she needs to do MORE of those. Her science review sheets for her test on Monday were great! Tons of colors and memory hints. We worked on her organization today, set up some accountability checks, and worked on science homework that isn't due for another week.
