The student made a 93 on her first test. She is very pleased. We went over how she should write about essay topics which include fiscal and monetary policy, GDP, GDP per capita, and imports and exports. We then began to cover the circular flow diagram, price floors and ceilings, advantages to trade, savings and consumer spending and their effect on the overall economy. We ended by going over the business cycle, unemployment, the labor force and a few other topics. The student will take the next exam this week.

This was my first session with the student. We worked through the lecture slides that his professor uses, and were able to cover a lot of ground for a first session. We covered comparative advantage, opportunity cost, PPF curves, and changes in demand versus changes in quantity demanded. We even were able to get started on supply curves. We were able to skip demand schedules and demand curves because this was a subject that he understood completely during class, which impressed me. Demand schedules are not the easiest topic to understand in economics.
