Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I went over new passages and questions that would be similar to the ones asked on her exam. She did very well today. Since we did everything verbally, I noticed that her main issue seems to be reading the question carefully. However, once she understands the question and pays attention to the passage, she gets the question right!"
"We began working with the phonics book. The student's progress has seen marked improvement in this one lesson alone with the book, and it is a more fun way to approach lessons. I assigned one page of homework from the book by our next class."
"The student and I read a short nonfiction text about mummification today, and he improved his fluency by 35 seconds after the third read through. He also easily scored a 10/10 on the comprehension questions! Then the student and I read another chapter and discussed it. I assigned three chapters of reading to the student along with a paragraph summary of each chapter. He should do his reading aloud to practice his fluency and expression."
"Today was our first meeting so the student covered a lot about what her overall goals were as well as how she wanted to accomplish them. We discussed strategies to stay focused and healthy as she challenged herself. We finished the session with a couple things I wanted her to complete before our next session at the end of the week, such as an outline and a couple ways to gain more resources for her paper."
"Today was our first session together. I provided a reading and math activity to get to know the student! We worked on reading; we read 4 passages and found the main idea and supporting details. In math, we worked on basic addition and subtraction, addition and subtraction with regrouping, and a few word problems. He did well with the basic addition and subtraction. He did well with the addition and subtraction with regrouping. He did well, and I am very proud of him. He said that he felt that tutoring went a lot better than he expected! He liked the platform and liked what we worked on today!"
"Today was our first session, and we took some time to discuss the student's likes and dislikes. We read a B and D level book, and I had him answer some comprehension questions based on them. He did well with simple text answers, and needed some assistance with higher level inferences. We also played a little sight word bingo, which he excelled at, and some math using dice. It seems as if math is his stronger subject."
